Juvederm – What Are These White Bumps Around My Lips?

If Juvederm is placed incorrectly, it will normally shows up as bumps or slightly bluish skin discoloration. If the bumps are less than 1mm and white, they are likely sebaceous glands. These are normally present on the vermillion (pink part of the lip) border especially on the upper lip. Usually they are 1mm or less in size and white to yellow in color.   Sebaceous glands make the oil for our skin and occasionally get blocked. It is unlikely that these blocked glands were caused by the Juvederm. They can be removed with aggressive microderm, TCA acid peals or very minor surgery.

How Much Are Skin Tightening Treatments?

As your skin ages, elastin, hyaluronic acid, and collagen production decline. Over time, skin can become lax, making you look older. If you’ve noticed the skin on your face or other parts of your body starting to sag, you might want to consider radiofrequency (RF) treatment at Colorado Skin and Vein. About Radiofrequency Skin Tightening RF therapy has been around for several decades and it is an effective treatment to combat the aging process. It encourages the skin to produce more of the factors that make it look youthful, reversing both laxity and wrinkles.  RF skin tightening works by concentrating waves of electromagnetic energy into the deep layers of your skin, heating them to between 152 F -158 F. The skin responds by producing heat-shock proteins which then create a signal cascade that stimulates the production of more collagen fibers. After several treatments, the target area looks tighter and more youthful.  Average Cost for RF Skin Tightening Treatments According to Healthline.com, the price of skin tightening treatment using RF therapy can range between $1,000 and $4,000, depending on the area of your body you intend to treat. Insurers consider radiofrequency skin tightening treatments a cosmetic therapy and, therefore, do not usually cover fees.  REQUEST A CONSULTATION Simply fill out the form on this page, and one of our highly trained staff members at Colorado Skin & Vein will reach out to your promptly to schedule your appointment. REQUEST A CONSULTATION Factors That Will Influence Final Pricing Several factors further influence the final price of a skin-tightening procedure. These include: Geographic Location of Your Provider Patients seeking treatment in coastal, urban areas on both seaboards will likely pay more for treatment than those in rural or Midwestern locations. Fees are highest where the cost of living is greatest.  The Expertise of Your Provider The experience of your provider will also play a role. Cosmetic surgeons and Certified Aesthetic Nurse Practitioners with specific training in RF skin tightening treatments are comparatively rare, which pushes up the price of their services. Finding an experienced provider is an important step in getting your desired results. Colorado Skin and Vein has these specially trained providers.  Your Ultimate Goals and Treatment Plan Lastly, the cost of RF treatment depends on your goals. Patients concerned mainly about their complexions are likely to pay less, for instance than those looking to address their abdomen because the treatment region is smaller.  Likewise, patients receiving fewer treatment sessions won’t pay as much as those looking for more.  “I went in to Dr. Verebelyi for Bio-T he explained the procedure completely and was very professional. I was so please with the office that I had some hair removal done. The office is always helpful and prompt with scheduling. I’m very happy with my results and if I have any question they’re glad to answer every thing to my satisfaction.” BJ Am I a Candidate for Skin Tightening Treatments? RF skin tightening therapy at Colorado Skin & Vein helps patients address multiple skin issues, body laxity, and facial sagging. It can also reduce fine lines and wrinkles and create a healthier appearance. It can also help tighten and reduce the volume in the neck and chin area. Providing a slender tighter jawline.  If you want to firm up the skin on your face or other parts of the body, you may be an ideal candidate for this type of treatment. RF procedures target the early signs of aging and nip them in the bud. How Much Does Kybella Cost?

One of the most effective ways to stay younger longer is through a defined chin and jawline. Unfortunately, a double chin isn’t easily exercised away, and diet only goes so far if the double chin is genetic. Colorado Skin & Vein understands how big a role a person’s face shape and profile plays in their confidence. If you’ve got a double chin, we can help. *Individual Results May Vary. How Does Kybella® Work? Kybella® is one of the only FDA-approved nonsurgical treatments to correct submental fullness or the dreaded double chin. The body naturally produces deoxycholic acid to break down dietary fat as a daily function. Kybella® is synthetic deoxycholic acid that, when injected into the submental area, can improve the appearance of a double chin, no matter how severe. It safely breaks down the membranes of submental fat cells and the body filters them out through the normal metabolic process. We are born with a fairly static number of fat cells, and throughout our lives, those fat cells grow and shrink in size, not number. Once Kybella® has targeted the fat in your double chin and your body has metabolized it, it’s gone, and it’s likely not coming back. Some fat cushion will remain, and it will fill in the gaps left by the metabolized cells, so there are no bumps or lumpy places. Just your jawline: smooth, prominent, and proud without excess fat to rob you of youth and confidence.  Am I a Good Candidate? Are you tired of living with a melted jawline resulting in a double chin? Then you may be an ideal patient to receive Kybella®, which is well tolerated by even the most sensitive of patients. Schedule a consultation with Colorado Skin & Vein to learn more. REQUEST A CONSULTATION Simply fill out the form on this page, and one of our highly trained staff members at Colorado Skin & Vein will reach out to your promptly to schedule your appointment. REQUEST A CONSULTATION Treatment, Recovery, and Results Your Kybella® treatment is as simple as a series of injections in the submental area. No incisions, no bandages, and virtually no downtime. The treatment is performed in the Colorado Skin & Vein offices and takes less than 30 minutes. You may experience mild swelling and tenderness, but these resolve within a week or two. Most people require between 2 and 4 Kybella® treatments to reach their aesthetic goals, but results are visible 4-6 weeks following the very first treatment. Improvement continues throughout the treatment process, peaking between 3-6 months. It takes time for the body to process the changes, but when the fat cells are gone, they’re really, truly gone. How Much Does Kybella Cost? The cost of Kybella® depends quite a lot on your geographical location and the expertise of your chosen practitioner. At Colorado Skin & Vein, our injection specialists maximize your treatment through careful, precise placement while also ensuring you get the most out of each injection to minimize the number of vials you may need. The average price of Kybella® is between $1,200-$1,800 per session. A pleasing face shape is one of the features that can redirect attention from other facial flaws like fine lines and wrinkles, so let the Colorado Skin & Vein team, under the guidance of Dr. David Verebelyi, give you the jawline and defined chin you’ve always wanted. You can now do it without surgery, without going under risky anesthesia, and without a lengthy recovery. Just a few injections and your double chin will melt away. Is Laser Hair Removal Painful?

Meticulous grooming and hair removal isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity. A put-together appearance means hours spent shaving, waxing, or plucking. But many are hesitant to undergo laser hair removal treatments because of pain. At Colorado Skin & Vein, we understand the hesitation, which is why we use the Cynosure Apogee Elite laser system. *Individual Results May Vary. How Does Laser Hair Removal Work? The Cynosure Apogee Elite laser is one of the most advanced on the market for laser hair removal. With two laser platforms in one—the 755nm Alexandrite laser, and the 1064nm Nd: YAG laser—we can quickly target unwanted hair for faster, less painful removal. The Apogee Elite is equipped with a beam combiner, allowing the delivery of both wavelengths at the same time. We can also switch between wavelengths without having to switch handpieces. Meaning, no matter your skin pigment or hair type, follicles are targeted with the proper wavelengths at all times. The Alexandrite energy is perfect for those with lighter skin tones, while the Nd: YAG energy is safe for hair reduction on darker or tanned skin. Patient comfort is a priority at Colorado Skin & Vein, and the Apogee Elite uses SmartCool technology, which emits a burst of cooling air to your skin to minimize pain. The laser’s spot size is flexible, making it ideal for quickly treating large or small areas. The faster your treatment, the faster you’ll become hair-free. Am I a Good Candidate? It used to be only very specific hair and skin types met the criteria for laser hair removal, but technological advancements have increased the number of ideal candidates. Most patients seeking laser hair removal can receive treatment now. Call us today to schedule your consultation. REQUEST A CONSULTATION Simply fill out the form on this page, and one of our highly trained staff members at Colorado Skin & Vein will reach out to your promptly to schedule your appointment. REQUEST A CONSULTATION How Much Does Laser Hair Removal Hurt? Pain tolerance varies by the individual, but many laser treatments do have an element of discomfort to them. For some, it’s like a light pinch, while for others it’s similar to a rubber band being snapped against the skin. We often hear our laser hair removal treatments are less painful than waxing. Pain also depends on the size and sensitivity of the treatment area. For arms or legs, the treatment is more bearable. For sensitive locations like the underarms, bikini line, or abdomen, it can be more noticeable. With our expertise and training, we can treat your unwanted hair quickly, without lingering over the area. Your hair is targeted with speedy, graceful movements of the handpiece. You may be finished with your treatment session in as little as 5 minutes for small areas, or in under 30 minutes for larger treatment zones. Results and Downtime There is no downtime associated with laser hair removal, and you should experience shedding and thinning within 1-2 weeks of treatment. Patients frequently experience up to 79% hair reduction after just 3 sessions. Multiple sessions are required because only 30% of your hair is in the active growth phase at one time. Treatments are spread over time to ensure all hair is targeted. Dr. Verebelyi trusts the Cynosure Apogee Elite laser to safely and effectively remove your unwanted hair for good. The short-term discomfort is nothing compared to a lifetime of irritating shaving or painful waxing. “I went in to Dr. Verebelyi for Bio-T he explained the procedure completely and was very professional. I was so please with the office that I had some hair removal done. The office is always helpful and prompt with scheduling. Is There Any Recovery Time With Kybella Treatments?

Kybella is a popular treatment for double chin reduction that offers a minimally-invasive and non-surgical solution to target submental fat. Achieving optimal double chin reduction can be tricky, even with a healthy diet and an active lifestyle. Because you can’t spot reduce pockets of fat, a lot of our patients come to us for a quick and effective solution to achieve their dream profile.  At Colorado Skin & Vein, we are dedicated to helping our patients achieve their goals. We understand that sharp and firm contours and a clearly defined jawline can affect your self-esteem. Therefore, Dr. Verebelyi and his team of specialists are committed to providing patients with a sustainable facial contouring treatment that doesn’t require surgery.  Does this mean you won’t need any recovery time if you get Kybella treatments?  *Individual Results May Vary. What is Kybella? Kybella treatments are the FDA-approved injections of a synthesized molecule that occurs naturally in the body: Deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is the molecule responsible for breaking down and dissolving dietary fat in the body. When injected in the submental area, it can be used as a targeted treatment for double chin reduction. The fat cells are gradually dissolved and eliminated naturally through the body’s lymphatic system.  The double chin reduction treatment requires only 15 to 20 minutes per appointment. You can receive one or many injections per appointment. You can rely on Colorado Skin & Vein specialists, who are professionally trained to provide safe injection delivery. What to Expect After Kybella Treatments Most patients can expect to notice the first results within a few weeks and gradually see improvements over the course of 3 to 4 months. It takes time for the body to process the damaged fat cells and flush them out. Additionally, you may need more than one treatment, which we’ll work together to define.  As it is a minimally invasive procedure with no surgical intervention, which means there is no severe downtime or recovery period. You can book a treatment during your lunch hour and resume your day as per usual.  You may experience minimal bruising, tenderness, and swelling that will disappear within days up to 2 weeks. We recommend avoiding medication that can facilitate bruising, such as ibuprofen and acetaminophen, ahead of the injection. REQUEST A CONSULTATION Simply fill out the form on this page, and one of our highly trained staff members at Colorado Skin & Vein will reach out to your promptly to schedule your appointment. REQUEST A CONSULTATION Am I a Candidate for Kybella Double Chin Reduction?  Kybella results are permanent as long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle and weight. Kybella is not suitable for patients on blood thinners or who have blood disorders, which can affect the healing process. We do not know the effect of Kybella on babies and fetuses, so we advise pregnant and breastfeeding women against the procedure.  “Dr Verebelyi is an artist and a wizard. I’m SUPER picky and he gets it right every time!” MM Take the Next Step To request your Kybella consultation with us, please call (303) 683-3235 or fill out our online contact form today. Colorado Skin & Vein serves Englewood and the greater Denver, CO area.

Collagen, Juverderm, Restylane, Radiesse And Sculptra Cost And Comparison

With all the lip and wrinkle fillers out there it is hard to know which on will be best for you. Is it collagen or Juvederm, maybe Restylane or Radiesse and what’s that Sculptra stuff all about? I have created this short list to help you compare the cost, effectiveness and side effects of these products and determine which one is best for you.   Collagen: This is the original filler. It spreads beautifully and is one of the few products that can fill very fine lines. Unlike like the original Zyderm and Zyplast which required skin testing, newer collages such as Cosmoderm and Cosmoplast do not. The major drawback to collagen is although it is about the same price per unit as all of the other options listed hear it only last about 3 months. Each syringe contains about 1cc of product. Price is about $500-$600 per syringe.   Restylane: Restylane was one of the first of a new type of fillers call Hyaluronic Acids or HAs for short. The clear gel is made of crosslinked HA which can hold up to 1000 times its own weight in water. HAs are naturally found in the skin and would normally breakdown quite quickly but due to its crosslinking, Restylane normally last about 6 months. It can be used just about anywhere including the lips. Another nice thing about all HAs, the product can be removed in a matter of hours if necessary with an enzyme call hyaluronidase which digests the HAs. Each syringe contains 0.8cc of product. Cost is about $500-$600 per syringe.   Juvederm: Juvederm is a second generation HA. It has higher crosslinking so it last a bit longer than Restylane, normally about 9 months. Juvederm is also a smooth gel which makes it less likely to look lumpy under the skin. Both Juvederm and Restylane are about the same cost. Each syringe contains 0.8cc of product. Price is about $500-$600 per syringe.   Radiesse: Radiesse is made of Calcium Hydroxylapatite which is a natural mineral in your own body. This is what we call a collagen stimulating product. That means that not only does the product increase volume but it also stimulates your own tissue to produce more collagen. Radiesse is good for deeper lines and for those that want a longer lasting treatment. This product is NOT appropriate for the lips or fine lines. Radiesse normally last about one year and may require a small touch up around 3-6 months. Rarely patients have had mild allergic reaction to Radiesse which show up a prolonged redness over the injection site. Per unit Radiesse is about the same price a Juvederm and Restylane for a 0.8cc syringe but it also comes in larger volumes of 1.5cc (almost 90% more product for only about 40% cost). Cost is about $500-$800 per syringe.   Sculptra: Sculptra is solely a stimulatory filler. In other words, one does not notice a change from the product itself but rather from the increased tissue collagen that is produced gradually over time after the produce has been placed. Sculptra just received its cosmetic FDA approval in July 2009 but has been used for cosmetic purposed for over 5 years. This product is made of Poly-L-Lactic Acid or PLLA for short. This is same stuff we make absorbable stiches out of so we know it is very safe. Sculptra takes about 3-6 months to do its job but it lasts over three years in many cases. This product normally takes 3 injection sessions spaced about 6-8 weeks apart. It is best for those that need deep volume throughout the face. Side effects can include small papules under the skin if the product is not placed, spread or massaged properly. Cost is about $1200 per treatment.   All of these products are broken down fully by the body unlike Silicone, Artecol and Artefill which should be avoided in most cases.

CoolSculpting Vs Liposonix For Non-Invasive Fat Removal In Denver

What are the differences between CoolSculpting and Liposonix? Although both of these methods will destroy fat, there are some significant advantages to using the CoolSculpting treatment instead of the Liposonix treatment. First of all, these two devices approach fat removal with different technology. CoolSculpting relies on two simple facts: fat freezes and fat is damaged at a higher temperature than your skin. This allows for the gentle removal of fat without any surgery, cutting or scarring. Conversely, the Liposonix device uses high frequency ultrasound (HIFU) to heat and damage the tissue. The second differentiation is that CoolSculpting is selective. That means that the device will be able to damage fat cells without damaging the cells around them. Normal body temperature is about 98.6o F. Fat cell freezes at just about 53o F, while other cells such as skin and muscle freeze at 32o F. Using a cooling plate, the tissue temperature is decreased to just below 53o F, this damages the fat while leaving the other tissue unharmed. On the other hand, the Liposonix device uses a high frequency ultrasound, which is not selective; it will heat and destroy any tissue where the beam is aimed. As you can imagine, CoolSculpting’s selectivity makes it much less painful. Only twice, in almost 300 procedures, have we needed to give a patient oral pain medication for discomfort. With Liposonix, almost all patients are given narcotics for the procedure such as Vicodin or Percocet, and many still report the procedure as being very uncomfortable. Lastly, while there is little doubt that both procedures work, there is much more research on CoolSculpting and its proven results. There are more than 10 peer-reviewed, scientific articles on the CoolSculpting procedure, as compared to only one small abstract currently on Liposonix. At Colorado Skin Care, we can confidently predict that every patient will lose about 25% of their fat after a single CoolSculpting treatment. For more information on CoolSculpting, call Colorado Skin and Vein at (303) 683-3235 or request a consult online.

Is There Any Downtime With Microdermabrasion Treatments?

Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic technique that gives you softer, more radiant skin. As a minimally-invasive procedure, there is little to no downtime afterward. Most patients at Colorado Skin & Vein can resume their regular activities immediately after treatment. About Microdermabrasion  Microdermabrasion is an in-office procedure that improves your skin tone and texture while reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, melasma, and other skin issues. The procedure uses an applicator that smoothes the top layer of skin, encouraging the underlying cells to engage their latent rejuvenation potential. Microdermabrasion does not involve the use of any skin-penetrating chemicals and works purely mechanically. For that reason, medical authorities consider it a safe therapy for most skin types and colors.  Because microdermabrasion is a minimally-invasive procedure, you don’t need to do much preparation for it. Most patients briefly consult with us about the specific type of microdermabrasion that would be best for them. Some techniques use an abrasive surface, while others blast the skin with fine particles. Is There Any Recovery Time?  Generally, there is no recovery time associated with microdermabrasion. After the procedure, you may experience mild redness, swelling, and tenderness. These symptoms usually disappear within a few hours. If you are prone to dry or flaky skin, you may wish to apply a moisturizer immediately after receiving therapy.  Because microdermabrasion removes the skin’s outermost protective layer, you will be more sensitive to sunlight for a few weeks. Always apply SPF 30 plus sunscreen before going outside, even if it is cloudy.  Benefits of Microdermabrasion  Microdermabrasion is an extremely popular skin therapy, thanks to the impressive benefits it offers.  No need for an anesthetic or numbing agent. Microdermabrasion is a gentle and pleasant technique. So much so that many patients look forward to receiving it and enjoy the tingling sensation.  No downtime. Most patients can resume their regular schedule immediately following treatment – no need to spend time in a recovery room.  Reduce the appearance of age spots and hyperpigmentation. Microdermabrasion stimulates dysfunctional skin cells to behave more youthfully, reducing the appearance of common blemishes.  Reduce pore size. Microdermabrasion encourages pores to tighten naturally over time, making your face appear more youthful.  Reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Microdermabrasion removes the top layer of the skin, encouraging new cells to grow up from beneath, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.  REQUEST A CONSULTATION Simply fill out the form on this page, and one of our highly trained staff members at Colorado Skin & Vein will reach out to your promptly to schedule your appointment. REQUEST A CONSULTATION Am I a Candidate for Microdermabrasion?  Because microdermabrasion is a safe and minimally-invasive procedure, almost anyone is a candidate for the therapy. If you currently have severe acne or another skin condition that may prevent healing, Dr. Verebelyi and the team advise you on the appropriate treatment course. Even if microdermabrasion isn’t suitable for you, there may be other therapies that are.  “I went in to Dr. Verebelyi for Bio-T he explained the procedure completely and was very professional. I was so please with the office that I had some hair removal done. The office is always helpful and prompt with scheduling. What Are The Best Treatments For Spider Veins In Denver?

Spider veins are a general term for vessels that show through the skin. They can appear throughout the face or legs as dark red, purple, or blue lines that twist and turn. While spider veins are not often painful, they can be bothersome for many. If your unwanted veins are negatively affecting your daily life, it may be time to think about spider vein removal. Colorado Skin & Vein is committed to providing the best treatments for spider veins in Denver. Our team of highly trained specialists is here to help you look as good on the outside as you feel on the inside. *Individual Results May Vary. Diagnosing Spider Veins At Colorado Skin & Vein, we use industry-leading technologies in order to see vessels. With our advanced diagnostic tools, we’re able to ensure you get the best possible treatment for your individual needs. Being able to make sure that no vessels are missed also greatly reduces the likelihood of repeated procedures. We can offer any or all of these services in a single in-office visit. How to Treat Spider Veins As providers, we generally break veins down by size. There are three main types of spider veins; telangiectasia, small reticular, and large reticular veins. The most effective treatment for vessels depends on the type of vein being treated. Let’s take a closer look at how we treat each below. 0.1-1mm Vessels (Telangiectasia) Telangiectasia are vessels that are less than 1mm wide. These are usually pink, red, or purple in color. Many people refer to these vessels as “broken capillaries” although they are actually just intact tiny superficial veins. So, what are your options for these small, yet aesthetically displeasing veins? Pulsed Dye Lasers are our go-to solution for pink, red, and purple veins that are less than 1mm for many reasons. The Pulsed Dye Laser is by far one of the safest and most effective treatments. The procedure can be used anywhere on the body including the face. Treatments are quick with minimal discomfort and side effects. Many vessels can be eradicated in a single treatment. Other options may include electrocautery, but it is painful, not as effective, and can leave scarring over the treated area. Sclerotherapy can also work, but it can be very difficult to get a needle inside a vessel this small. Although rare, there is a possibility of skin breakdown around the injection site which makes this procedure inappropriate for facial veins. Other lasers such at the 1064nm Nd:YAG or 532nm KTP can also be used for small veins but tend to not work quite as well on these vessels and can have more side effects than the Pulsed Dye Laser. 1-2mm Vessels (Small Reticular Veins) Small reticular vessels are those that are between 1-2mm and usually blue or slightly green in color. These veins may cause pain or discomfort and can also burn or itch in certain instances making removal essential. For vessels from 1-2mm either 1064nm Nd:YAG laser or Sclerotherapy are the treatments of choice. Why? The Nd:YAG is a laser that penetrates deeper into the skin that the Pulsed Dye which makes it more effective at treating larger vessels. Most patients will require 1-3 treatments depending on their vessels. Sclerotherapy involves shooting a solution into the vessel which damages the vessels walls and stops blood flow. There are many different solutions on the market. We use an extremely effective combination of glycerin and STS (Sotradecol) which is made into a foam to help it stick to the vessels walls. 3-4mm Vessels (Large Reticular Veins) For these larger painful vessels, foam sclerotherapy is the treatment of choice. In many cases, a single treatment will cause bothersome veins to disappear.  *Individual Results May Vary. Varicose Vein Treatments in Denver Spider veins and varicose veins are often thought to be the same condition. However, they are completely different problems that require unique treatments. All veins have one-way valves inside them to keep the blood flowing in one direction. Occasionally, these valves do not close correctly letting blood flow backward causing the affected vein to get distended and ropy. These vessels are labeled as “varicose veins”. Many patients opt to remove varicose veins because they can be both aesthetically displeasing and painful. Among other treatment options, we offer the CoolTouch laser for unwanted varicose veins. What’s Right for You? The best treatment for your spider veins will vary based on your individual concerns as well as your end goals. During your in-person consultation, one of our skilled vein specialists will perform an evaluation and talk to you about all of your options in-depth. Together, you’ll create a customized treatment plan for the best possible outcome for long-term results. “Always love coming here. Front desk staff in knowledgeable, helpful and on point. Medical staff ROCKS. Great treatments, and also, they run ON TIME. I refer every who ever asks about any skin/vein things to them!” January King Take the Next Step Want more information on laser vein removal at Colorado Skin & Vein? Request a consultation online or call us today at (303) 683-3235 to schedule an appointment at our office in Eaglewood, CO.

Diabetes And Varicose Veins – Why You Should Get Treatment

Contrary to popular belief, diabetes does not cause varicose veins – but the two conditions are closely linked. The risk factors for both are similar and patients who have diabetes should be vigilant about any varicose veins they may experience. Both diseases damage the circulatory system and the additional weaknesses caused by varicose veins could make the effects of diabetes worse. Those with risk factors for both diabetes and varicose veins are those who are: Aging Pregnant Obese Have a family history or genetic predisposition Patients with diabetes have high levels of sugar in the blood, causing the veins to weaken or causing weight gain – both recipes for varicose veins. Additionally, diabetes can result in nerve and tissue damage in the legs, a common site for varicose veins. *Individual Results May Vary. Lifestyle changes and proper treatment can prevent or mitigate the effects of varicose veins for those without diabetes. Measures taken to prevent varicose veins can also help with circulation problems caused by diabetes. Patients should keep salt intake down and eat plenty of fiber, elevate the legs when resting and avoid constricting clothing. If you suffer from diabetes and do not have varicose veins, be sure to continue to manage your diabetes symptoms and be on the lookout for any changes to the veins. However, if you have diabetes and begin to notice varicose veins, you should seek treatment. Varicose veins can be treated, helping patients stay healthy. Untreated varicose veins can get infected, and the infection can be critical and life-threatening. Diabetics have a higher risk due to their weaker immune system. There are several ways to treat varicose veins and safely and effectively close down damaged veins such as varicose veins and other veins leading to leg ulcers. These procedures include Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA), VenaSeal™, and Endovenous Radiofrequency (EVRF). Colorado Skin & Vein offers outpatient procedures for varicose veins. Avoiding surgery is particularly important for diabetics, who tend to have problems healing. Be sure to let the doctor know if you have diabetes. Request your vascular treatment consultation with us by calling 303.683.3235 or completing our online contact form today. Colorado Skin & Vein serves Englewood and the greater Denver, CO area.
