FAQs
HAVE QUESTIONS? WE'VE GOT ANSWERS
What happens during my initial consultation?
We review your medical history, concerns, and goals. For vein issues, we perform diagnostic duplex ultrasound imaging to visualize blood flow and assess valve function. For aesthetic concerns, we conduct advanced skin analysis. You’ll receive personalized treatment recommendations, expected outcomes, recovery details, and transparent pricing. No obligation—just answers and a clear plan tailored to you.
How long does treatment take, and what is recovery like?
Most vein procedures (EVLA, VenaSeal, sclerotherapy) take 45-90 minutes with same-day return to normal activities. Injectables take 15-30 minutes with no downtime. Laser treatments range from 20-60 minutes with a few hours to a few days of redness. CO₂ resurfacing requires 5-7 days healing. CoolSculpting sessions are 35-60 minutes per area with no downtime. We provide specific recovery timelines during consultation.
Will treatment be painful?
Most procedures involve minimal discomfort. We use topical anesthetics, local numbing, and advanced cooling technology. Vein treatments cause only slight pressure. Injectables feel like brief pinpricks. Lasers create temporary warmth or tingling. Post-treatment tenderness, redness, or swelling typically resolves within days.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Regular exercise, leg elevation, maintaining a healthy weight, and avoiding long periods of standing help support vein health.
Can I work or exercise after treatment?
Most patients return to work the same day. We recommend walking immediately after vein treatments to promote circulation. Avoid vigorous exercise, heavy lifting, and high-impact activities for 3-7 days post-vein treatment. After aesthetic treatments, you can resume normal activities immediately, though we recommend avoiding strenuous workouts for 24 hours after injectables. Specific restrictions depend on your procedure—we provide detailed aftercare instructions.
How do I prepare for treatment?
Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E) for 5-7 days before treatment to minimize bruising, unless medically necessary. Stop retinoids 3-5 days before laser treatments. Avoid sun exposure and tanning for 2-4 weeks before laser procedures. Arrive hydrated with clean skin. Eat a regular meal before vein procedures. We provide detailed pre-treatment instructions specific to your procedure when scheduling.
Are all treatments FDA-approved?
Yes. All our laser systems, energy-based devices, and injectable products are FDA-approved or cleared for their intended uses. We invest in proven, medical-grade technology and follow strict safety protocols.
How do I get started?
Call (303) 683-3235 or request an appointment online. Download our intake form before your visit or arrive 15 minutes early. Bring insurance card, photo ID, medication list, and questions. We handle insurance verification and answer scheduling questions.
What should I bring to my appointment?
For consultations: insurance information, photo ID, medication list, and questions. For vein procedures: prescribed compression stockings (don’t wait to purchase), comfortable loose clothing you don’t mind staining (we use iodine), flip-flops or sandals. Eat a regular meal beforehand. Take regular medications unless instructed otherwise. Notify us about blood thinners before procedures.
Do I need someone to drive me home?
No. Most procedures use only local anesthetic, allowing you to drive yourself home and resume normal activities immediately. For vein treatments, we recommend walking after your procedure.

How long is my first appointment?
Initial consultations typically last 45-60 minutes. This includes medical history review, physical examination, diagnostic ultrasound (for vein concerns) or skin analysis (for aesthetic concerns), treatment discussion, and time for questions. Some patients proceed with treatment the same day (common for injectables or sclerotherapy), which adds 30-90 minutes depending on procedure.
What makes your team qualified?
Dr. David Verebelyi holds dual board certifications, serves as Chief of Laser Surgery, is a Fellow and Instructor for the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (a distinction held by only top specialists), is a Registered Vascular Technician, and specializes in ultrasound imaging. With over 20 years treating vascular and aesthetic conditions, his vast technical experience is unique in Colorado. Christina Jordan, FNP, CANS, brings advanced certification in aesthetic nursing specialty. Our entire team holds advanced degrees, certifications, and extensive training in light-based medicine and cosmetic injectables—expertise that sets us apart in a state where anyone can legally operate a laser without specialized training.
Does insurance cover vein treatments?
Most vein treatments are covered when medically necessary—meaning documented symptoms (pain, heaviness, swelling, cramping, skin changes) and ultrasound-confirmed venous reflux. EVLA, radiofrequency ablation, VenaSeal, and ambulatory phlebectomy are often covered. Purely cosmetic treatments (spider vein sclerotherapy, facial veins) typically aren’t covered. We accept most major insurance and Medicare, verify coverage, obtain prior authorization, and provide cost estimates upfront.
How do I know if my vein issue is medical or cosmetic?
If you experience leg pain, aching, heaviness, fatigue, swelling, cramping, restless legs, skin discoloration, or ulcers, your condition is likely medical. We perform diagnostic duplex ultrasound to assess valve function and confirm venous reflux—the objective test determining medical necessity. Even without visible veins, persistent symptoms warrant evaluation.
Do I need a referral?
Most insurance plans don’t require referrals, but some HMOs do. Check your specific plan before scheduling. If needed, we help coordinate with your primary care physician. Call (303) 683-3235 to verify your coverage.
What financing options are available?
We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards. We partner with CareCredit for 0% interest financing for six months (no upfront costs, prepayment penalties, or annual fees) with instant online approval. Extended payment plans with low, fixed rates are available. Once approved, use CareCredit repeatedly without reapplying. Transparent pricing provided at consultation.
Can I pay online?
Yes. We offer secure online payment through InstaMed. Access from any device—mobile, tablet, or computer—to pay bills quickly with bank-level security.
What if I don't have insurance?
No problem. We’re happy to provide treatment for self-pay patients. We provide detailed pricing during consultation and offer financing options to make care accessible.
Do you accept Medicare?
Yes. We accept Medicare for medically necessary vein treatments that meet coverage criteria—documented symptoms and diagnostic ultrasound confirmation of venous insufficiency. We verify Medicare coverage, obtain prior authorization, and explain your estimated out-of-pocket costs before treatment.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, personal checks, and all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover). We also offer CareCredit healthcare financing and secure online payment through InstaMed for your convenience.
What are varicose veins?
Enlarged, twisted, rope-like veins visible beneath the skin, typically blue or purple. They develop when vein walls weaken and valves fail, causing blood to pool and veins to bulge. Risk factors include genetics, age, pregnancy, obesity, and prolonged standing or sitting.
What symptoms do varicose veins cause?
Aching, throbbing, heaviness, fatigue, swelling (especially lower legs/ankles), burning, nighttime cramping, restless legs, itching, and skin discoloration. Symptoms worsen throughout the day and improve with elevation. Untreated veins can lead to ulcers, bleeding, or blood clots.
Can I have vein problems without visible veins?
Yes. Many patients with venous insufficiency experience pain, heaviness, swelling, or cramping without surface veins. Malfunctioning veins may be deeper, visible only through ultrasound. If symptoms worsen when standing and improve with elevation, schedule an evaluation.
Which vein treatment is right for me?
Treatment depends on vein type, location, severity, and ultrasound findings. We perform comprehensive ultrasound evaluation to recommend the most effective option.
Will varicose veins come back after treatment?
Treated veins are permanently closed. However, venous insufficiency is progressive—new veins may develop over time if underlying risk factors persist. Maintain healthy weight, stay active, and wear compression stockings when needed to minimize new vein development. Follow-up ultrasound monitoring helps address new concerns early.
Can lifestyle changes eliminate varicose veins?
No. Exercise, weight management, elevation, and compression stockings slow progression and reduce symptoms but don’t reverse vein damage or repair faulty valves. Once venous insufficiency develops, damaged valves don’t heal on their own. Treatment permanently eliminates malfunctioning veins while your body redirects blood through healthy vessels.
Are varicose veins dangerous?
While often considered cosmetic, untreated varicose veins can cause significant discomfort and lead to serious complications including chronic leg pain, skin ulcers (difficult-to-heal wounds), bleeding from veins, superficial thrombophlebitis (surface blood clots), skin changes, and rarely, deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Early treatment prevents progression and complications.
Can varicose veins go away on their own?
No. Varicose veins result from broken valves that cannot repair themselves. Creams, supplements, and home remedies won’t fix structural valve damage. Venous insufficiency is progressive and worsens over time without treatment. What begins as visible veins can progress to aching, swelling, and eventually venous ulcers. Medical treatment is the only effective solution.
Are women more at risk for varicose veins?
Yes. Approximately 50% of women develop vein disease in their lifetime versus 1 in 3 men. Hormonal changes from pregnancy, menopause, birth control, and hormone replacement therapy affect vein walls and valves. Women should watch for venous insufficiency signs and seek evaluation with any concerns.
How do I know which treatment is right for me?
We perform comprehensive skin analysis and assess your concerns, skin type, goals, and medical history. We create customized treatment plans, often combining therapies for optimal results.
Are treatments safe for all skin types?
Yes. Our advanced laser systems and customized protocols ensure safe treatment for all skin types and tones. Different wavelengths and settings protect melanin while achieving results. Dr. Verebelyi’s expertise as a Fellow and Instructor for the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery ensures precise, individualized parameters.
Will results look natural?
Natural enhancement is our specialty. We prioritize subtle refreshment over dramatic change. Dr. Verebelyi’s medical artistry and 20+ years of experience ensure treatments enhance features while maintaining your unique expressions. Most patients hear they look refreshed or well-rested without others identifying specific treatments.
What's the difference between medical-grade treatments and spa services?
Medical-grade treatments use prescription-strength products and advanced technology penetrating deeper skin layers for significant, lasting results. Our medical providers have extensive training and credentials to safely deliver higher-intensity treatments. CO₂ resurfacing, RF microneedling, and medical injectables require medical supervision beyond spa-level services.
Some improvements are immediate, but full results usually appear gradually over several weeks.
What are the potential side effects of aesthetic treatments?
Common temporary side effects include redness, swelling, bruising, and tenderness at treatment sites. Injectables may cause mild bruising for 3-7 days. Laser treatments can cause temporary redness lasting hours to days. CO₂ resurfacing involves planned skin peeling during healing. Serious complications are rare when treatments are performed by qualified medical professionals. We discuss specific risks during consultation.
Do you offer treatments for men?
Absolutely. Popular treatments include Botox for forehead lines and crow’s feet, dermal fillers for volume loss, laser hair removal (back, chest, neck), CO₂ resurfacing for sun damage and texture, laser treatments for redness and rosacea, and CoolSculpting for stubborn fat. We customize treatments to maintain masculine features while addressing concerns.
Do you offer aesthetic consultations?
Yes. We recommend starting with a comprehensive consultation to assess concerns, discuss options, and create a personalized treatment plan. Consultations allow you to meet our team, tour our facility, ask questions, and understand pricing before committing. We take time to ensure treatments align with your goals and expectations.
