Sculptra™ is an injectable medication that contains microparticles of poly-L-lactic acid, a biocompatible, biodegradable, synthetic polymer that has been used as an absorbable suture material for several decades. It has been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration for restoration and/or correction of the signs of facial fat loss (lipoatrophy).
Sculptra is different than other fillers in that it stimulates your body to produce its own collagen and last significantly longer than hyaluronic acid fillers. In many cases, this product can last several years. Sculptra™ is injected under the skin at three consecutive visits spaced about 4 weeks apart. It works to stimulate the deep layers of the tissue to produce more collagen.
Sculptra™ works best in areas of the face where fat and bone loss have resulted in a gaunt-looking appearance and volume need to be replaced.
Sculptra works best in the mid and lower face to improve the jawline, jowls, and marionette line as well as the temple. The product can also be used to improve the appearance of skin around the decolletage.
You will need 3 treatments spaced about 4 weeks apart to achieve maximum results.
Although you may notice some results within four weeks of your first treatment, you will not see the maximum result until about 6 months.

Please try to avoid products that may increase the likelihood of bruising. These include: Aspirin, Vitamin E, flax seed, fish oil, NSAIDS (Aleve, Motrin, Advil), red wine, garlic, ginkgo, and ginger for 7-10 days before and after your treatment. These products increase the likelihood and severity of bruising.
For more than 15 years I’ve received injectables from various practitioners. I can honestly say that Christina is THE BEST of them all!! She’s incredibly skilled in this art form and I highly recommend her!
