The Most Effective Skin Tightening Treatment Offered In Denver

Skin tightening treatments have made a lot of promises over the past 15 years. From Thermage back in 2002, to Cutera’s Titan procedure in 2005 and more recently Ulthera and Profound. The early technology showed potential, but the results were inconsistent.

Over the past year, new clinical data has emerged showing more consistent and effective results using Profound, which is why our office brought it to the Denver market. The Profound skin tightening treatment has shown a significantly better response rate than any of its’ predecessors and is reported to be 100% effective.

How Does Profound Work?

Profound uses radio frequency (RF) to heat the skin’s inner layer of tissue (the dermis) to an exact temperature for an exact period time. This ensures maximum stimulation for the creation of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, while protecting delicate structural proteins that previous devices could destroy. The balance between stimulating skin tightening molecules and protecting the current tissue structure produces more dynamic and consistent results that were not possible with older procedures.

Can I Get Even Better Results?

Is there a way to improve a skin tightening procedure that reports a 100% response rate and already produces beautiful results? The answer is yes!

It’s done by adding a procedure to address the epidermal (surface tissue) issues that go along with skin inelasticity in the dermis. Since Profound effectively treats the dermis, we needed an ideal treatment for the epidermis. The perfect fit turns out to be the CO2 laser.

This is not the fractionated CO2 laser that seems to be advertised by so many aesthetic clinics. That procedure creates thin columns of damaged skin which penetrate the dermis and cover about 20% of the tissue. This can improve texture but does not result in much tightening.

The traditional CO2 treatment we perform covers the entire surface area and has been shown to significantly tighten skin.

What’s the Difference Between Fractionated CO2 and Traditional CO2?

Fractional CO2 is akin to aerating a lawn: creating small holes that only cover a certain percentage of the treatment area. This is best for deeper lines and scarring.

Traditional CO2 is more like mowing a lawn: it’s a shallower treatment but covers 100% of the surface area.

This is idea for treating pigment, as well as smoothing and tightening the skin. With Profound treating the dermis so effectively, traditional CO2 is proving to be the ideal accompaniment to treat the epidermis.

What Results Can I Expect?

By combining two treatments we are able to maximize tightening as well as significantly reduce wrinkles, remove dark spots, and smooth crepe-like skin texture.

The synergy between the dermal Profound and epidermal CO2 treatments are producing results that we have not been able to obtain with any other combination of treatments. Patients have smoother, tighter and brighter skin within the first week from the CO2. Within about a month the tightening from Profound starts to develop. Over the next several months jowls tighten, turkey necks become less wrinkled, sagging lids open and the entire treatment area becomes tighter.

We’ve also been exploring this combination over many other body areas such as arms, knees and abdomens to get rid of crepe-like texture and cellulite that can develop as we age. Overall, there is no other non-surgical combination that has come close to producing the results that we see with the Profound and CO2 combination.

For over 26 years, Nikki has dedicated her career to the dermatology and aesthetics industry, building her experience from the ground up — starting in a patient scheduling call center, moving to the front desk, and rising to executive leadership overseeing multiple providers and locations.

Originally from Pittsburgh, she moved to Orlando before starting 10th grade and later attended Seminole State College of Florida. Her career in dermatology began in 2002, scheduling appointments for a multi-location practice. She grew quickly within the organization, moving into front-desk and checkout roles before being promoted to Office Manager in 2008. In 2012, her leadership and operational expertise led the CEO to seek her out for an expanded role overseeing multiple providers and locations — a position she held through 2022.

Outside of her professional career, Nikki is passionate about giving back to the community:

Betina graduated from the Cardiovascular Technology Program at Grossmont College in California in 2020, and brings more than six years of experience in the duplex world of venous insufficiency. Much of her career has centered on superficial vein mapping and assisting in surgery while providing attentive patient care.

At Colorado Skin & Vein, she assists with venous ablation procedures as well as ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy. She is committed to quality care at every stage — from the initial consultation, through surgery, to post-operative appointments — making sure each patient feels fully supported.

In her free time, Betina loves Kizomba dancing with her Afro-Latin dance community, and can often be found at electronic dance music shows in different cities. If you are feeling generous, she will happily accept a karaoke room or an iced Thai milk tea.

Prior to joining the practice, Brooke spent several years in pediatric primary care, caring for patients with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. Angel has been in healthcare for more than 20 years. Her journey began in 2004, after her father suddenly passed away from a stroke. Losing him was a life-changing experience, and it inspired her to choose a career where she could help others and give patients and their families the care, compassion, and support they need during difficult times.

Throughout her career she has worked across cardiology, neurology, family practice, and urgent care — each experience helping her grow both personally and professionally. She now works in vascular care and aesthetics, where she enjoys building relationships with her patients, helping them understand their care, and making sure they feel comfortable and supported throughout their journey.

Outside of work, Angel is a proud mom of two. Family is incredibly important to her, and in her spare time she loves being outdoors with her husband and their two dogs — hunting, fishing, and enjoying Colorado.

For Angel, healthcare is more than a career — it is personal. What started as a way to honor her father’s memory has become more than two decades of caring for others, and she is grateful to keep doing something that means so much to her every day.
