Cellulite Treatment

How Do We Treat Cellulite?

Cellulite forms when rigid fibrous bands trap fat beneath the skin, creating dimples that won’t respond to diet or exercise. Profound® RF delivers precise radiofrequency energy through tiny needles to break down those bands, release trapped fat, and stimulate new collagen—smoothing skin at the source.

Radiofrequency Microneedling:
Tiny needles penetrate the subcutaneous fat layer where cellulite forms, delivering controlled heat directly to fibrous bands while tightening surrounding skin.

Collagen Stimulation:
Heat energy triggers your body’s natural healing response, generating fresh collagen and elastin that strengthen, thicken, and firm skin from within.

Fibrous Band Release:
Controlled thermal energy melts rigid connective tissue bands, allowing trapped fat pockets to flatten and dimples to smooth out permanently.

Skin Tightening:
Radiofrequency targets deeper layers simultaneously, tightening loose skin and improving overall texture for a smoother, more toned appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions About Cellulite Treatments

What is Profound® RF cellulite treatment?

Profound® RF uses radiofrequency microneedling to deliver controlled heat energy deep into skin, breaking down fibrous bands and stimulating collagen production to visibly reduce cellulite dimpling.

Tiny needles penetrate the subcutaneous fat layer where cellulite forms. Radiofrequency energy melts rigid fibrous bands, releases trapped fat pockets, and tightens surrounding skin for a smoother appearance.

Most adults bothered by cellulite on thighs, buttocks, or hips are candidates. A consultation determines treatment fit based on skin type, cellulite severity, and aesthetic goals.

Profound® RF is designed as a single treatment. Some patients opt for a second session after six months for additional smoothing, depending on initial results and desired outcome.

We apply topical numbing cream and administer local anesthesia to ensure comfort. Most patients experience minimal discomfort during treatment, with a mild sunburn-like sensation afterward.

Expect mild swelling and tenderness for 7-10 days. Most patients return to work within 1-2 days and resume exercise within a week. Avoid swimwear for about two weeks during initial healing.

Gradual improvement begins at six weeks. Optimal smoothing and tightening appear between three to six months as new collagen forms and skin remodels.

Results typically last three years or longer. Maintaining stable weight, staying active, and following a healthy skincare routine support lasting improvement.

Yes. We use Profound® RF to tighten skin on the abdomen, reduce bra fat, smooth “banana rolls” beneath the buttocks, and address saddlebags on hips.

Cellulite is structural, not fat-related. Weight loss may reduce overall volume but won’t eliminate fibrous bands causing dimpling. Profound® RF addresses the root cause.

Exercise builds muscle and improves circulation but can’t break down the connective bands creating cellulite. Treatment targets those structures directly for visible smoothing.

Yes. While less common, men do experience cellulite. Profound® RF effectively treats cellulite in both men and women across all skin types.

Yes. Profound® RF is FDA-cleared with an excellent safety record. Board-certified providers ensure treatments are performed safely and effectively.

Profound® uses heat to target cellulite-causing bands and stimulate collagen. CoolSculpting freezes fat cells but doesn’t address the fibrous structures creating dimpling or tighten skin.

Cost depends on treatment area size and individual needs. We provide transparent pricing during your consultation and offer flexible financing options for qualified patients.

Angel Croce, Staff Manager at Colorado Skin & Vein in Denver

Angel Croce

Staff Manager

Angel has been in healthcare for more than 20 years. Her journey began in 2004, after her father suddenly passed away from a stroke. Losing him was a life-changing experience, and it inspired her to choose a career where she could help others and give patients and their families the care, compassion, and support they need during difficult times.

Throughout her career she has worked across cardiology, neurology, family practice, and urgent care — each experience helping her grow both personally and professionally. She now works in vascular care and aesthetics, where she enjoys building relationships with her patients, helping them understand their care, and making sure they feel comfortable and supported throughout their journey.

Outside of work, Angel is a proud mom of two. Family is incredibly important to her, and in her spare time she loves being outdoors with her husband and their two dogs — hunting, fishing, and enjoying Colorado.

For Angel, healthcare is more than a career — it is personal. What started as a way to honor her father’s memory has become more than two decades of caring for others, and she is grateful to keep doing something that means so much to her every day.
