Understanding Laser Treatments

Cosmetic Laser Treatments

Cosmetic laser treatments use precisely calibrated light energy to address a wide range of skin concerns—from sun damage and pigmentation to unwanted hair and texture irregularities. Unlike topical products that work only on the skin’s surface, medical-grade lasers penetrate to specific depths, targeting problem areas while leaving surrounding tissue unaffected.

At Colorado Skin & Vein, laser treatments are performed by David Verebelyi, MD, RVT—a double board-certified physician, and Christina Jordan, FNP, CANS, a board-certified aesthetic nurse specialist with advanced training in facial anatomy and injection techniques. With over 20 years of clinical expertise and a comprehensive suite of advanced laser systems, we customize every treatment to your unique skin type, concern, and desired outcome—ensuring safe, effective results that look natural.

Common Questions

Your Laser Treatment Questions Answered

What are cosmetic laser treatments?

Cosmetic laser treatments use calibrated light energy to target specific skin concerns like pigmentation, texture, hair follicles, or blood vessels. Different wavelengths and technologies address different issues with precision and minimal downtime.

During your consultation, Dr. Verebelyi evaluates your skin type, specific concerns, and goals to recommend the most effective treatment or combination of treatments for your unique needs.

Many of our laser systems are safe for all skin types, but treatment parameters must be adjusted based on skin tone. Dr. Verebelyi’s extensive experience ensures safe, effective treatment regardless of your complexion.

Sensation varies by treatment. Most patients describe mild warmth or tingling. We use topical numbing, cooling systems, and ice to minimize discomfort. More aggressive treatments like CO₂ resurfacing require anesthesia for comfort.

Session length varies from 15 minutes (laser hair removal) to 90 minutes (comprehensive CO₂ resurfacing). Most treatments take 30-45 minutes including preparation and post-treatment care.

Downtime depends on the treatment intensity. IPL and laser facials require no downtime. Resurfacing treatments may require several days of healing. Dr. Verebelyi provides detailed recovery expectations during your consultation.

Angel Croce, Staff Manager at Colorado Skin & Vein in Denver

Angel Croce

Staff Manager

Angel has been in healthcare for more than 20 years. Her journey began in 2004, after her father suddenly passed away from a stroke. Losing him was a life-changing experience, and it inspired her to choose a career where she could help others and give patients and their families the care, compassion, and support they need during difficult times.

Throughout her career she has worked across cardiology, neurology, family practice, and urgent care — each experience helping her grow both personally and professionally. She now works in vascular care and aesthetics, where she enjoys building relationships with her patients, helping them understand their care, and making sure they feel comfortable and supported throughout their journey.

Outside of work, Angel is a proud mom of two. Family is incredibly important to her, and in her spare time she loves being outdoors with her husband and their two dogs — hunting, fishing, and enjoying Colorado.

For Angel, healthcare is more than a career — it is personal. What started as a way to honor her father’s memory has become more than two decades of caring for others, and she is grateful to keep doing something that means so much to her every day.
