Frequently Asked Questions

Body Aesthetics FAQ

What body areas can be treated with CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting effectively targets stubborn fat on the abdomen, flanks (love handles), thighs (inner and outer), upper arms, back fat (bra rolls), underneath the buttocks (banana roll), and under the chin (submental area). During your consultation, we’ll assess which areas are best suited for treatment based on your anatomy and goals.

CoolSculpting permanently eliminates treated fat cells from your body. Once destroyed, these cells cannot regenerate. However, maintaining results requires a stable weight through healthy lifestyle choices. Significant weight gain after treatment can cause remaining fat cells to enlarge, affecting your contours.

CoolSculpting causes intense cold sensation during the first few minutes as the treatment area becomes numb. Most patients read, work on laptops, or relax during the 35-60 minute treatment session. Afterward, you may experience temporary redness, swelling, bruising, or tenderness that resolves within days to weeks.

Most patients see noticeable improvement after one treatment per area, with full results visible in 2-3 months. Some choose a second treatment for the same area to achieve additional fat reduction. During consultation, we’ll recommend a treatment plan based on your specific goals and anatomy.

Ideal candidates are near their goal weight with pinchable fat pockets resistant to diet and exercise. CoolSculpting isn’t a weight-loss solution or treatment for obesity. We evaluate your candidacy during consultation by assessing your body composition, health history, and aesthetic goals.

Cellulite is a structural issue where fat cells push through weakened connective tissue beneath the skin, creating a dimpled appearance. Regular subcutaneous fat creates smooth contours. Cellulite affects even thin, fit individuals and requires different treatment approaches than fat reduction.

Modern cellulite treatments using radiofrequency, laser, or acoustic wave technology can significantly improve skin texture and reduce dimpling. Results vary based on cellulite severity, treatment type, and individual response. Multiple sessions typically achieve optimal outcomes, with maintenance treatments sustaining results long-term.

Laser hair removal provides permanent hair reduction, meaning treated follicles are destroyed and won’t produce new hair. However, hormonal changes or dormant follicles may cause some regrowth over time, typically much finer and lighter. Most patients experience 80-95% permanent reduction after a complete treatment series.

Most areas require 6-8 treatments spaced 4-8 weeks apart for optimal results. Hair grows in cycles, and laser only affects actively growing follicles. Multiple sessions target all follicles as they enter growth phase. Factors affecting treatment number include hair color, thickness, skin tone, and treatment area.

Modern laser technology treats all skin types safely when proper settings are used. Darker skin requires specific wavelengths and parameters to protect melanin while targeting hair follicles. During consultation, we assess your skin type and hair characteristics to determine the safest, most effective approach.

Angel Croce, Staff Manager at Colorado Skin & Vein in Denver

Angel Croce

Staff Manager

Angel has been in healthcare for more than 20 years. Her journey began in 2004, after her father suddenly passed away from a stroke. Losing him was a life-changing experience, and it inspired her to choose a career where she could help others and give patients and their families the care, compassion, and support they need during difficult times.

Throughout her career she has worked across cardiology, neurology, family practice, and urgent care — each experience helping her grow both personally and professionally. She now works in vascular care and aesthetics, where she enjoys building relationships with her patients, helping them understand their care, and making sure they feel comfortable and supported throughout their journey.

Outside of work, Angel is a proud mom of two. Family is incredibly important to her, and in her spare time she loves being outdoors with her husband and their two dogs — hunting, fishing, and enjoying Colorado.

For Angel, healthcare is more than a career — it is personal. What started as a way to honor her father’s memory has become more than two decades of caring for others, and she is grateful to keep doing something that means so much to her every day.
