Although the exact etiology is unknown, UV exposure and immune dysregulation are thought to play a significant role in rosacea. Depending upon the type of rosacea and the clinical presentation, some treatments may include:

  • Oral antibiotics: minocycline, doxycycline
  • Isotretinoin
  • Topical Medications: metronidazole, azelaic acid, sodium sulfacetamide, Soolantra® (ivermectin)
  • Pulsed Dye Laser (PDL)
