How Does Body Sculpting Work?
CoolSculpting® takes advantage of the temperature at which fat cells freeze—53°F, rather than the 32°F of surrounding muscle and skin. By lowering the treatment area temperature to just below 53°F, CoolSculpting® crystallizes fat cell membranes without damaging surrounding tissues. White blood cells surround the damaged membranes and begin the removal process. The damaged fat cells are metabolized out of the body through the lymphatic system, a completely natural process that leaves no scarring and no lumpy or misshapen fat pads. The fat layer is nearly identical to its previous state, except up to 25% thinner. CoolSculpting can be performed multiple times to increase the result. No surgery, no anesthesia, and no downtime.
SmartLipo™ MPX is body sculpting science using laser technology to melt away stubborn fat while simultaneously tightening skin for a smooth, sculpted silhouette. The wavelength energy is delivered through a tiny cannula (2mm rather than the 6mm of traditional lipo). Fat cells absorb the laser energy, breaking them down so the body can filter them out. The energy also results in less bruising as it coagulates small blood vessels. Downtime is a few days instead of a few weeks. The fat is gone, and the skin is 80% tighter than liposuction for a beautiful, contoured shape.

What is Treatment Like?
CoolSculpting® is non-invasive, and patients are often satisfied with results after only two treatments. The applicators are applied and the system’s vacuum sucks the affected tissues into the handpiece, which remains in place for up to an hour. Initial discomfort is minimal and often subsides once the area is numb, for a comfortable and even relaxing procedure. Each treatment has the potential to reduce your stubborn fat by up to 25%.
SmartLipo™ is minimally invasive, with the insertion of the micro-cannula beneath your skin to target and disrupt fat cell membranes, melting them away. There’s no need for general anesthesia, and you’re awake for the procedure. There’s minimal bruising, but patients do need to be gentle with themselves for a few days.
When Will I See Results?
Fat cell disruption begins immediately with both procedures, and once the body recognizes the damaged cells, the immune system takes over. Over the next 90-120 days, 25% of fat cells are removed. Cellular disruption is more even with CoolSculpting® and SmartLipo™, so your body’s remaining cushioning is smooth, just thinner. There’s no scarring, no fibrosis, and no cellulite dimples.
