How Do Dermal Fillers Work?
The purpose of dermal fillers, such as Revanesse® Versa™, is to fill in facial volume loss due to aging. Our face changes shape as we age, becoming more angular and losing the roundness of youth. This is most obvious in the hollows of the cheeks and under the eyes. Revanesse® Versa™ is not like other dermal fillers because of how it’s made. Most dermal fillers are made with hyaluronic acid (HA) molecules, which the body naturally produces to provide the skin with vital nutrients and hydration. Versa™ is different because the HA molecules are a higher molecular weight, making it perfect for filling moderate to severe lines and folds, plump cheeks, and enhancing lips. The wet-milling manufacturing process of Versa™ produces spherical HA molecule links, which improve integration with tissues, leading to less swelling and longer-lasting filler.
How Do Neurotoxins Work?
Everyone’s heard of Botox® to pause aging by smoothing forehead lines, brow furrows, and crow’s feet. Colorado Skin & Vein is proud to offer a more effective, cost-saving alternative in Jeuveau™. In both medications, the active ingredient is derived from botulinum toxin, which blocks nerves in the forehead and around the eyes. These nerves control the muscles responsible for the movement that creates wrinkles. Jeuveau™ suspends the movement of these muscles, giving the wrinkled skin time to repair and renew itself through collagen and new skin cells. Your forehead wrinkles, brow furrows, and crow’s feet smooth out giving you a more youthful, refreshed appearance.

What is the Treatment Like?
Both Jeuveau™ and Revanesse® Versa™ are injectables, so the treatment is fast and only as painful as the pinch of a needle. Some patients report sensitivity at the injection site, but this fades within hours.
When Will I See Results?
With Revanesse® Versa™ your results are immediate, though it may take a week or two for the filler to fully settle into its final position. Results with Jeuveau™ may take up to 10 days to fully set, whereas Botox® can take up to 2 weeks. Your muscles are relaxed for a full 5 months, and patients accustomed to the medication may see results last even longer.
