Injectables are ideal for quickly rejuvenating your appearance without the risks and downtime associated with surgery. Dermal fillers, such as JUVÉDERM® and Sculptra® Aesthetic, are injected into the skin to add volume to fill wrinkles and depressions. In addition, JUVÉDERM® can be injected to add volume to thin lips. Neurotoxin injectables, such as BOTOX®, are injected into the muscles that cause wrinkles, especially in the upper face. Most patients can immediately return to work and their regular activities, and results become visible immediately with fillers and within a few days after treatment with BOTOX®.
However, injectables (as well as some skincare products) are not always what they seem. There are some unprofessional “injectors” who use expired, diluted, and even illegal products and put patients’ health at risk. These people offer treatments at reduced costs, but they generally produce ineffective or even reactive results (read: infections). With cosmetic procedures, you get what you pay for, and when it comes to your appearance, you don’t want to look cheap or put your health at risk.
Here is what and who to look for to help determine the authenticity of your injectables.
The qualifications of the person administering your injectable treatment(s) are a big indication of the results you can expect and the quality of the product they are using. A doctor or registered nurse with medical training generally has adequate knowledge of the facial structures, but you should make sure they are trained and experienced in injectable treatments to achieve the best results. If they are qualified, experienced, and performing your treatment in an accredited center, it is highly likely they are using authentic products.
At Colorado Skin & Vein, we use only the best products and guarantee their authenticity. We purchase our injectables directly from their U.S. manufacturer, and each product can be identified and traced with its unique serial number. Our online shop also offers sealed and regulated quality skincare products.
Either Dr. Verebelyi or our registered nurse (RN), Laura Carlsen, administers the injectable treatments for our patients. Dr. Verebelyi and Laura each have years of experience with injectables. Laura specializes in aesthetic injectable treatments, and patients travel from all over for her experience as a “natural look specialist.” She has trained with some of the best injectors in the world and stays up-to-date on the leading injectable techniques.
