This procedure is much more effective than IPL for removing small veins and redness. The laser energy is applied to the skin which causes the proteins in the vein wall to coagulate. The damaged vessels are then removed by the immune system over the next few weeks. Most small vessels can be treated in just a few short treatments.
For the redness and flushing associated with rosacea, a package of five treatments is usually recommended. To reduce the redness even faster, products such as SkinMedica® Redness Relief Calmlex™ have proved more effective than prescriptions such as MetroGel.
