PiQo4 Vs. Other Lasers
Before PiQo4, the best laser on the market was PicoSure®. Comparative research shows that PiQo4 is four times faster than PicoSure®! Not only is it faster, but it’s also much more powerful, far less painful, and noticeably more effective even after a single treatment. Because PiQo4 uses picosecond pulses, it breaks pigment particles more efficiently than traditional Q-switched laser treatments, which use nanosecond pulses. Due to the smaller spot size and slower pulse durations, other tattoo removal lasers have a higher rate of side effects such as blistering, ghosting, scarring, and poor ink removal.

How Effective Is PiQo4 In Removing Different Colors Of Tattoo Ink?
PiQo4 has four different wavelengths that allow it to shatter nine of the most popular tattoo ink colors. These wavelengths are 1064nm, 532nm, 650nm, and 585nm, and they can treat colors ranging from light orange and red to green, blue, purple, black, and other colors. PiQo4’s large spot size and high peak power (10 times that of other laser systems) make it the most effective multicolor tattoo ink removal system available.
What About Tattoos Resistant To Prior Treatment?
Because the spot size is so large and the pulse fires so quickly, the PiQo4 laser can successfully treat many tattoos that have failed removal with other devices. In many cases with tattoos that are resistant to removal, the ink particles are only partially broken down and become too small for the device being used to be effective. However, they still remain large enough to be seen as a partially removed tattoo. Since Picosecond pulses are effective in breaking down smaller ink particles, the PiQo4 can be effective on these partially treated tattoos that other systems simply cannot treat.
Why Does Spot Size Matter?
A larger spot size for laser tattoo removal along with the wavelengths determines how deeply a pulse penetrates into the skin. This more effectively breaks up the ink particles. Research shows that larger spot sizes decrease the rate of blisters, discoloration, and scarring as side effects of the treatment because the energy is spread over a wider surface area. The PiQo4 laser goes up to 15mm, which is a full four times larger than any other laser in the industry.
