At Colorado Skin & Vein, we cannot emphasize enough the importance of exercise and nutrition to drop excess weight and maintain your health. However, a mindful lifestyle can’t always help to target stubborn fat pockets that refuse to bulge.
Typically, patients who don’t want to undergo invasive treatments or procedures consider Coolsculpting therapy. Coolsculpting is a body contouring solution provided by our professionally trained expert, Christina Jordan, MSN, and FNP-C. In addition to her extensive medical experience, we are proud to say that Christina has also completed the clinical Coolsculpting University Masters, ensuring high-quality care to our patients.
The treatment is effective in a variety of areas to help you get rid of the stubborn fat wherever it hides, including abdomens, back, thighs, and upper arms. Most patients can achieve positive results rapidly. However, it isn’t an overnight miracle. Our team can help you understand how long the process of targeted fat elimination will take, and how many Coolsculpting cycles you can expect to require.
What is Coolsculpting?
Coolsculpting is the process of freezing fat cells in specific areas. Fat cells freeze at 53°F, while other cells freeze at 32°F. Since fat cells freeze at a higher temperature than other body tissues, Coolsculpting is a safe process that can destroy fat without causing damage to the surrounding tissues.
Treatments can take 35 minutes for short treatments that are limited to one area. However, if you choose to treat multiple areas simultaneously, your appointment duration will be longer. This non-invasive treatment that requires neither needle nor surgery is ideal for patients who want to improve their silhouettes without going under the knife.
About Coolsculpting Cycles
Most patients can achieve positive results within approximately 2 cycles of treatments. Results are not immediate, as the body needs to eliminate the destroyed fat cells over time. This is a gradual process that takes 90 to 120 days, during which the immune system removes around 25% of the treated fat layer. The fat then becomes naturally thinner in the targeted area.
There is no limit to how many treatments you can undergo. However, each cycle is performed several months apart – ideally every 4 months, but you can choose to wait at little as a month. Most patients get dramatic results in 2-5 treatments.
You can also combine multiple areas during one session, such as flanks and thighs, for instance. We recommend waiting to give the body time to recover and process some of the damaged cells.
Our team will work closely with you to advise and monitor results throughout the course of your unique treatment plan.

Am I a Candidate for Coolsculpting?
Coolsculpting is designed for patients who are within 30 pounds of their ideal weight. Coolsculpting is not a weight loss solution. Typical areas of stubborn fat include the abdomen, hips, chin fat, back, chest, inner and outer thighs, and upper arms.
